Summary
Hidden Villa’s full-time, residential internship is our most in-depth place-based, experiential program for young, emerging leaders (generally ages 19 to 26) who are in the process of discovering the work they want to do. Interns will experiment with learning the values and skills of environmental and hands-on education, serving families and intergenerational groups on weekends and some field trip groups of grades PK-12th on Thursdays or Fridays.
- Facilitate 1-2 daily Y.E.S Programs for families, groups, and corporate volunteers on Saturdays and Sundays
- Develop and present creative, engaging farm and nature based programs and pop-ups to groups of children, families and adults for weekend experiences working alongside Hidden Villa's Community Programs Coordinator and Director
- Support as our gatekeeper at the gatehouse occasionally or as needed
- Lead day-long Hidden Villa Education Programs for PreK-12th graders on some Thursdays and Fridays
- Communicate with and answer questions from the public and program participants about community programs and farm offerings
- Support the planning and implementation of large organizational events, including private, corporate, and community groups
- Beginning in March, learn alongside our vegetable production farm team every Thursday with a Farm specialization
- Collaborate with fellow interns, teachers, managers, coordinators, volunteers, and parents to create a positive, inclusive environment for our participants
- Perform animal chores 2-3 times a week
- Participate in other meetings, community programs, and donor events, as needed
- Attend weekly, dedicated training workshops
- Co-create a life-giving communal living atmosphere by completing your weekly, rotating household chores and participating in weekly, mandatory house meetings
