Environmental Education Coordinator

Serve as the AmeriCorps Environmental Education Coordinator at Grays Harbor National Wildlife Refuge in Olympia, Washington. Connect kids and nature! Share the wonders of wildlife with the next generation! Inspire future conservationists.

The Coordinator oversees implementation of the Shorebird Education Program in 3rd and 4th grade classrooms in Grays Harbor County, WA. They will provide six in-classroom lessons on the ecology and natural history of shorebirds, and take students on a field trip to Grays Harbor National Wildlife Refuge. They will also serve on the Grays Harbor Shorebird and Nature Festival planning committee and manage all aspects of the Festival’s poster contest for 1st through 6th graders.

This office for this position is located at Billy Frank Jr. Nisqually National Wildlife Refuge in Olympia, Washington.

Preferred Qualifications:

-Degree and/or experience in education

-Degree and/or experience in biology, ornithology, ecology, or similar

-Strong public speaking skills

-Strong organization skills

-Experience working with youth

Benefits:

Living stipend of 2,785.90/month per month (before taxes)
