About PEEC: The Pajarito Environmental Education Center (PEEC) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit funded by donations, memberships, and contracts for services. Our mission is enriching people’s lives by strengthening their connections to our canyons, mesas, mountains, and skies. We fulfill our mission through school lessons and field trips, public talks, planetarium shows, summer camps and after school activities, classes, hikes, and outings. Objectives: The executive director (ED) is responsible for daily operations at the nature center and ensures that PEEC has the financial stability and human resources to safely and effectively achieve its mission. The ED is the public face of and spokesperson for the organization. The ED provides strategic vision and program leadership, supervises all aspects of operations, ensures financial oversight, ensures the organization’s sustainability for the future, and is the sole employee responsible for all development activities. The ED works closely with and reports directly to the Board of Directors. PEEC will be embarking on a capital campaign in the next five years, and the ED will be the lead on this project.

Salary, Hours, and Benefits: This is a full-time (40 hours per week), exempt, salaried position. Some evening and weekend hours will be required each month. The starting salary will be based on experience and will be in the range of $72,800 - $93,600.00 per year.
