This position administers and delivers the Arizona Project WET's (APW) Arizona Water Festival (AWF)Program in communities statewide. These community events host up to 850 students in a day to learn about water resources and stewardship regionally and in their communities. The AWF Instructional Specialist will work in conjunction with the Arizona Water Festival Program Coordinator and APW Director to sustain and grow this program.

Summary

This position administers and delivers the Arizona Project WET's (APW) Arizona Water Festival (AWF) Program in communities statewide. These community events host up to 850 students in a day to learn about water resources and stewardship regionally and in their communities. The AWF Instructional Specialist will work in conjunction with the Arizona Water Festival Program Coordinator and APW Director to sustain and grow this program. The incumbent will travel to, coordinate, and lead the Arizona Water Festival events in locations across Arizona. They will ensure that the goals and objectives of the program are accomplished in accordance with established priorities, time limitations, funding limitations, or other specifications.

*  Plans and carries out all aspects of water festival events. Including leading a team of volunteers in set up and break down of 16 E-Z Up canopies and learning materials for each station. Direct volunteers, teachers, and students to ensure a smooth event. Coordinates festival logistics, creates festival scheduling, teacher and volunteer assignments, and local coordinator communication. 

* Leads pre-festival volunteer trainings that model festival activities, organizes volunteer logistics, and volunteer communication, in order to deliver effective and well-organized festivals. Recruits event participants, utilizing most appropriate promotional or marketing methods, such as individual letters, brochures, social media, or presentations at meetings and conferences.

* Maintains top-notch equipment for festival events and volunteer trainings including but not limited to trailer maintenance, supplies inventory and purchase, equipment sanitation and cleaning between events, and restocking of necessary equipment for each festival event.

* Connects, collaborates, and maintains relationships with community partners, including K-12 personnel and governmental, academic, and corporate organizations in order to promote UA water education initiatives and the Arizona Water Festival Program. Promotes the program through well-written flyers, documents, and emails. Using social media tools and methods, communicates the APW message and impacts to all stakeholders and potential stakeholders. Monitors program expenditures to ensure that budget allocations are not overspent and confer with AWF Program Coordinator regarding the budget.

* Assists with the preparation of periodic impact reports on water festivals, program activities, progress, status, or other special reports for outside agencies and funders. Communicates effectively in both written and verbal form.
