As a long term substitute for a science teacher at Vail Mountain School, you will be the acting homebase teacher for an 8th grade section, as well as teaching two sections of 8th grade Science, one section of 10th grade Biology, and one section of 12th grade Neuroscience, and one meeting of 9th grade Healthy Relationships. You will be responsible for creating and implementing lesson plans as well as grading any work that comes in during your time at VMS.
Summary
Work with Vail Mountain School as a full-time faculty member working with 8th - 12th grade students between roughly January 10, 2023 and April 7, 2023.

- Work with the permanent VMS faculty member in November/December to coordinate coverage of the classes including Schoology training/set up, assessment discussion, and curriculum review.
- Develop curriculum, provide instruction, and complete assessment for the following courses:
- 8th Grade Science (Environmental Chemistry / Physics)
- 10th Grade Biology
- 12th Grade Neuroscience
- 9th Grade Ethics of Healthy Relationships
- MS Club
- Home Base and Advisory duties for your 8th grade students
- House, and Ski Day responsibilities
- Provide general supervision of students
- Communicate in a timely and professional manner with students, parents and colleagues
- Attend related meetings which may occur outside of the school day
- Assist with afternoon and evening programs as requested
