Summary
Growing Gardens is seeking an enthusiastic Environmental Education Intern for March 2 – May 22, 2026 (15 hrs/week). Interns teach garden-based lessons (plant life cycles, pollination, composting, insects, honeybees, healthy eating, and more), lead field trips, support classroom visits, and assist with outreach events. You’ll gain hands-on experience teaching in a farm-based setting, learn effective communication and group management strategies, and receive training on Ages & Stages, Love and Logic, working with neurodivergent youth, and more.
Interns work 3 weekdays (Tue–Fri), ~8 AM–1 PM, attend required trainings including orientation on March 2, and collaborate closely with a mentor. Interns receive a $400 completion stipend, qualify for university credit, and get benefits such as 50% off plant sale items, access to courses, and connections in the local food movement.
Qualifications: experience teaching youth, ability to work outdoors, strong communication, reliability, independence, and interest in developing garden-based education skills. No gardening experience required. Background check required.
