In collaboration with the MFS AmeriCorps Member team, the CRCL will design and implement a Climate Resilience Service Learning Track and Community Voice Engagement Plan to better understand and address the barriers low-income communities face in accessing clean technologies, climate justice resources and services. The CRCL will also provide AmeriCorps access to climate resilience training and resources, for their service communities and personal climate resiliency goal-setting.

Summary

Essential Duties:

  • Develop and lead Climate Resilience Service Learning Track for AmeriCorps Members serving across MFS programs, integrating program-specific goals and values into training curriculum
  • Gather and share applicable and ongoing climate resiliency outreach and education news, resources, and opportunities to the AmeriCorps team
  • Closely collaborate with the MFS Inclusion and Engagement Liaison to create a community-informed climate justice engagement plan for AmeriCorps Members serving students and families in school communities and MFS office settings 
  • Organize and lead quarterly environmental justice service learning projects for the AmeriCorps team, both internally and with external partners
  • Support and mentor AmeriCorps Members in their own climate resiliency efforts, individually and in service to the community
  • Collaborate with MFS Ways to Work car loan program team to enhance community awareness and access to electric mobility resources
  • Regularly attend and participate in the Climate Justice Team meetings
  • Regularly attend and occasionally facilitate portions of the monthly AmeriCorps team meetings, as well as other program team meetings, as needed
  • Support community feedback data collection and analysis as needed
  • As part of the Climate Justice Team, help to educate MFS agency staff on climate related topics 
  • Receive and pursue ongoing professional development opportunities on climate, community engagement, equity and justice

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years of program development experience or equivalent related experience
  • Minimum of a BA/BS in public service, human services, environmental science or equivalent related experience
  • Experience with and/or knowledge of AmeriCorps national service is strongly preferred
