Summary
Assistant Professor in Interdisciplinary Humanities Wake Forest University’s Program in Interdisciplinary Humanities is seeking applications for one tenure- track position at the rank of Assistant Professor to begin in July 2023. Compelling applicants will have a commitment to interdisciplinary, experiential, and place-based learning and a record of teaching and mentoring students from diverse backgrounds. We seek scholars who share our dedication to cultivating a positive, inclusive culture of belonging among faculty, staff, and students, including international and first-generation students and those who identify as members of historically marginalized communities. We welcome candidates committed to engaged and collaborative scholarship in such areas as environmental humanities and geohumanities, environmental and social justice, community leadership and empowerment, food systems, food security, sustainability and social change, and public health. A Ph.D. in a Humanities discipline is required, along with an advanced degree, concentration, or graduate research in related disciplines (e.g., geography, anthropology, ecology). The teaching load for this position will be 2-2-2-3 over a two-year period.
The Program in Humanities currently has five tenured faculty, one postdoctoral fellow, and one teacher- scholar postdoc. More information about the Interdisciplinary Humanities Program is available at https://humanities.wfu.edu.

This approach should encompass the many resources of the Piedmont area, including local and regional organizations and government agencies. We are eager to recruit candidates whose approach supports effective and equitable engagement with policy, practitioner, and local communities.
