The Storm King School is an 8-12, co-educational, college preparatory boarding/day school of 185 students located in the spectacular Hudson Highlands of New York, overlooking the Hudson River. We have students from 25 countries and many states in the US. Storm King School is adjacent to Black Rock Forest, a 4000 acre preserve and forest field station. This is an ideal resource for our school and especially for a biology teacher.
Summary
Storm King School Upper School Biology Teacher
Primary Job Responsibilities: Teach four sections, coach/advisee activity two seasons, and live and work in the dormitory. Our Biology teacher typically teaches three sections of Biology and one section of AP Biology. Some other duties include: supervise weekend and after school assignments and clubs when needed; attend parent/teacher meetings; attend faculty/staff meetings, dorm meetings and others as required; drive groups of students as needed for athletics, weekend or other activities.
Minimum qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Environmental Science or a related field is required, MA preferred. Candidates with 2-5 years of experience are preferred.
