Summary
Brevard Zoo is seeking a passionate and ambitious Human Dimension Research & Evaluation Curator to give the Zoo’s mission-driven teams the information and insights they need to achieve their greatest impact. Reporting to the Director of Education, this key position will serve in a cross-departmental role to design, conduct, analyze and provide project-based support for human dimension research and evaluation initiatives throughout the Zoo.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collaborate with the Director of Education and Senior Staff to identify Zoo needs and to develop and execute plans for evaluation and reporting in a timely manner.
- Research design, qualitative data collection and analysis, quantitative data collection and analysis and reporting of results.
- Assess the need and establish timelines for research projects, including but not limited to projects that will assess the Zoo’s impact through messaging and programs during the guest’s experiences.
- Develop evaluation questions and measurable objectives to determine attitude and behavior changes.
- Works closely with project teams throughout the design, implementation, and reporting stages.
- Develop partnerships to build our capacity for research and analysis, including creating and implementing university partnerships for processing institutional review committee proposals.
- Coordinate and conduct meetings, training, and workshops.
- Serves as a team member of the interpretation and graphics committee. Works with teams to design and conduct research to measure impact on attitude, behavior changes, and exhibit objectives. Analyzes and interprets data to inform management and stakeholders on the overall guest experience.
- Maintains database files for all projects.
- Assist in writing grant proposals and reporting. Works with departments to coordinate evaluation ad reporting needs for the grant.
- Effectively communicates program results with emphasis on adaptive management.
- Reports research results and publishes findings to advance visitor experience and informal science education fields.
