Summary
The Baird Creek Preservation Foundation (BCPF) seeks two paid seasonal interns (approximately 30 hours per week for 7-9 weeks), starting May/June 2022 through early August, to assist education staff in running summer camps in the Baird Creek Greenway. Set hours will be Monday-Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. with a lunch break. Training for one week prior to the start of camps will be scheduled upon hire. Please note that this is a paid summer hire/internship. Salary is $12.00 per hour.
Specific Education Intern (Camp Leader) Tasks can include:
- Work together to prepare, lead, and coordinate daily camp activities, which may include arts and crafts, indoor and outdoor games, enrichment activities, service-learning opportunities, etc.
- Follow lesson plans.
- Guide appropriate camper behavior and hands-on outdoor education
- Ensure the safety of all participants
- Relationship building skills with school-aged children (K-5th grade) and their families
- Working in collaborative with the Education Coordinator
- Following directives from the Education Coordinator
- Cleanup of facility at end of day
Successful candidates will be innovative, adaptable, creative, and have a willingness to be outdoors.
