Educators in this 9-month position work March to November at the Salato Wildlife Education Center to conduct classroom and outdoor programs that share their enthusiasm for the role of the Kentucky Department of Fish & Wildlife Resources in the management and conservation of native species. In addition, they assist with admissions, sales, and trail upkeep.

Educators in this nine-month position work March to November at the Salato Wildlife Education Center to conduct classroom and outdoor programs that share their enthusiasm for the role of the Kentucky Department of Fish & Wildlife Resources in the management and conservation of native species. In addition, they assist with admissions, sales, and trail upkeep.
Incumbent must:
- Have a bachelor's degree in natural or physical science, education, or recreation
- Work Tuesday through Saturday from 8 A.M. to 4:30 P.M. and special events
- Be comfortable with public speaking and working hands on with wildlife such as snakes, turtles, and raptors
- Work in an outdoor setting, run, stoop, bend, push, pull, and lift heavy objects
- Obtain a Hunter Education Card, a hunting or fishing license issued by the KDFWR, a certification in CPR/First Aid. Must possess a valid driver's license
