Summary
The Visitor Services Intern is a member of the Duke Farms Operations Department and will learn about and assist with all aspects of Visitor Services at Duke Farms. Individuals in this role are expected to gain an understanding of and implement the various operational policies and procedures necessary to provide thousands of daily visitors with a world-class experience. This internship is designed to provide a broad introduction to visitor services for students interested in park management.
The Visitor Services intern may:
- Provide visitor services with assistance in answering and directing incoming phone calls, assisting visitors with directions and navigation throughout Duke Farms;
- Greet, orient, and assist visitors in a friendly and welcoming manner and provide exceptional customer service;
- Create and implement visitor and visitation surveys;
- Assist with all aspects of Saturday ticketing and procedures;
- Contribute to the Duke Farms App and assist with updates and development;
- Assist with all aspects of the Duke Farms Farmers Market including vendor recruitment;
- Assist with all aspects of the Farm Barn Café including taking orders, assisting in the kitchen, and food waste operations -no prior food service experience is necessary;
- Assist with planning and coordination of space use operations and special events;
- Assist with all aspects of the Duke Farms Bike Rental program;
- Assist with the operation of the accessibility shuttle;
- Be comfortable working with Zoom and in various indoor and outdoor settings;
- Represent Duke Farms proudly and professionally at all times;
- Assume all other reasonable professional duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor;
- Perform other related work as required.

Compensation Information
COMPENSATION and BENEFITS
- $15 per hour;
- Optional on-site housing;
- 401(k) plan with employer contribution equal to 15 percent of base pay.
