Summary
NorthBay is looking for highly motivated, independent workers with a willingness and ability to learn new materials and adapt quickly to changing environments/needs. Successful candidates should have an education background and should demonstrate a sincere aspiration to positively affect students’ lives. Content areas are focused on literacy, social emotional learning, and the environment as an integrating context. Bilingual (Spanish) candidates are preferred. This is a 12 month, full time position.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Other duties may be assigned.
1. Responsible for the safety of 10-40 children in an outdoor, sometimes remote setting.
2. Effectively teach students from various school districts MSDE approved curricula in environmental education, environmental science, literacy, social emotional learning, and outdoor education.
3. Travel to schools to deliver social emotional learning experiences.
4. Participate in various camp maintenance activities.
5. Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s Degree in outdoor education, environmental or natural science, education, art, social studies language arts, or related fields preferred.
Teaching or other youth program experience preferred.
Competence and comfort with digital presenting, emailing, and Microsoft Office and/or the Google Office Suite
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Strong communication skills required, both verbal and written. Must be an excellent communicator.
Spanish-bilingual is preferred.
