Summary
The Education & Volunteer Program Technician connects people, nature, and place through interpretive programming for a variety of audiences. They design, promote, and coordinate engaging educational programs to inspire curiosity and foster stewardship of our natural world. This position also works with the volunteer team providing support for coordination of volunteer events and activities.
This is a great entry-level opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the fields of interpretation and volunteer coordination. A full-time temporary position of 40 hrs. per week with an April – November season. However, there is potential for a flexible schedule to accommodate school schedules.

Specifically, this position:
- Coordinates and supports volunteer project preparation.
- Coordinates and organizes summer campground and trailhead series, including presenting, working with contract presenters, marketing, and evaluation.
- Collaborates with Natural Resources staff, outside agencies, and schools as appropriate.
- Assists with volunteer naturalist programs, training, and recognition events.
- Assists with information distribution and communication.
- Work independently with volunteers and the public, managing interactions as needed.
- Provides general office support.
- Required to work at least one weekend day and the occasional nights.

Compensation Information
$15 - 16/hourly
